It's not just Republicans who are against the Democrats' $1.9 trillion stimulus plan. Even The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board came out against it this week:

(W)e wonder how much public support there'd be if Americans understood that most of the blowout is a list of longtime Democratic spending priorities flying under the false flag of Covid-19 relief.

Ouch! But their opposition makes sense, because House GOP leaders insist that less than 9% of the plan goes to actually combating COVID-19 through public-health spending. The Journal also calls the bill a "Non-Covid Spending Blowout" that "has little to do with the virus." The newspaper's editorial board adds:

No wonder Democrats want to pass all this on a partisan vote. It's a progressive blowout for the ages that does little for the economy but will finance Democratic interest groups for years. Please don't call it Covid relief.

Ouch, again! "The American Rescue Plan Act of 2021" calls for billions and billions of tax dollars to be spent on liberal giveaways that do little or nothing to fight coronavirus. Republicans are rightly calling the bill, "Pelosi's Progressive Payoff." It's a Democrat "wish list" of progressive "pork" that doesn't do enough to help struggling families, small businesses, schools or those most at risk to the coronavirus.
