Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) has been a rock star in the GOP's fight against the Democrats $1.9 trillion COVID boondoggle. Since the House passed the radical, taxpayer-funded, far-left "wish list" last weekend, he's been on the front lines of the battle to defeat the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. This morning, The Wall Street Journal published an online article with the headline: "Ron Johnson Emerges as Democrats’ Chief Antagonist in Covid-19 Aid Push".
On Wednesday, the Senior Senator from Wisconsin tweeted: "I'm going to make the Senate clerk read the Democrats' $1.9 trillion bill. All several hundred pages of it. ... We need to highlight the abuse. This is not a COVID relief bill. It's a boondoggle for Democrats" (emphasis ours).
Just before midnight last night, Johnson took to Twitter again and pointed out: "$1.9 trillion in additional debt is $5,800 per person. Added to the $4 trillion of earlier relief bills, it's a debt burden of $18,000 per person. This relief isn't free."
This afternoon, shortly after Senate clerks finished 11 hours of reading the 628-page bill, he posted this: "It's clear this is not a COVID relief bill. It's amazing how much spending is for 2022-2028. This is just a Democrat wish list" (emphasis ours).
Sen. Johnson gets it! (It's almost as if he's been reading Grassfire's emails all week.) What's better is that he refuses to give in to a massively irresponsible taxpayer giveaway that would pay millions of people more money to stay home than to work. That's simply unAmerican AND unsustainable.
Grassfire is giving you the opportunity, right now, to reach directly into the halls of Congress. As debate on H.R.1319 continues in the Senate, make your voice heard using our "Stop The COVID Boondoggle!" FaxFire! Click here or on the banner below to immediately send your personalized fax message to EVERY Republican Senator for just $30:
The Unhinged Left wants to use this bill to institute "universal basic income," open the door to "universal health care," and push America farther down the road to full-blown socialism. But as the late British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher once said, "The trouble with socialism is that, eventually, you run out of other people's money."
As we mentioned previously, "When you rob Peter to pay Paul, you always get Paul's vote." This vote-buying scheme could keep the radical Democrats in power for generations -- or at least until taxpayer money runs out.
Please consider going "the extra mile" by sending LEVEL TWO faxes to reach all 100 U.S. Senators. For just $50, you can call on EVERY Republican AND Democrat to "Stop The COVID Boondoggle!" That's only $.50 per fax! Click here to send your personalized message now. Thanks, in advance, for taking action today.
For life, liberty and limited government,
