House Republicans scored three big wins last night by passing THREE appropriations bills through "regular order" -- not via the CRISIS GOVERNING that continues to rule Capitol Hill. Punchbowl News reports that the Lower Chamber's 30-day CR will "mandate spending at a $1.47 trillion annual clip,... while protecting the Pentagon, Homeland Security and VA from any cuts."

In separate articles posted this afternoon, Punchbowl News reports that, as "Sparks fly in House," the "Senate scrambles" to reach a deal. Here's the latest:

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is trying to "strip Ukraine funding" from the Senate's continuing resolution (CR) -- something he thinks Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) might consider. The Speaker wants the House to "pass something Friday" so Republicans "have a stronger hand."

Meanwhile, in the Upper Chamber, RINOs are reportedly trying to pass $6 BILLION for six weeks of Ukraine aid by adding money for border security to the CR: "Key Senate Republicans told us they're trying to craft an amendment to the proposed stopgap funding bill that would boost funding for the U.S.-Mexico border and institute new migrant policies."

This entire exercise in CRISIS GOVERNING by the totally dysfunctional "Capitol Hill Gang" is a mess! According to Punchbowl News, "It's unclear if the Senate can find a sweet spot on policy and border money that could pass (their) chamber and satisfy House Republicans."
