The situation is EXTREMELY BAD in Texas. Please see the message below from Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs --  Grassfire's disaster relief partner.

Mercy Chefs will be serving its first meals to Texas storm victims THIS EVENING. They'll serve thousands more this weekend.

I'm hoping the Grassfire team will help sponsor at least 2,500 meals between now and the weekend. Just $50 will help provide 20 hot meals for WINTER STORM VICTIMS right now! Go here to make your tax-deductible gift directly to Mercy Chefs, and see below.

Friday Midday

Steve,

The situation is even worse than we expected. We have never seen anything like this. No heat, no power and no water. People stranded on closed roads with no way to escape.

My team traveling from Birmingham got stuck in Louisiana. The main Interstate heading west was closed. Side roads proved to be impassable. I will now be flying in from Birmingham.

The GOOD NEWS is, thankfully, other Mercy Chefs team members made it to Dallas-Ft. Worth last night and are now working feverishly to get THOUSANDS of meals out by this evening. We found an alternative source of food but already I can see we must get more food to the Dallas area immediately.

We urgently need your PRAYERS and your FINANCIAL SUPPORT. Just getting our people and equipment to Texas is proving to be an enormous challenge, but the need is so great, we simply must PERSEVERE!

Would you prayerfully consider making a special gift right now as we BEGIN SERVING MEALS TODAY IN STORM-RAVAGED TEXAS while we provide critical relief in neighboring states that have been hit hard by the bitter temperatures and storms? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

If you already helped, THANK YOU SO MUCH. If you can help again, please do so today. The situation is dire for many. If you haven't yet supported our Texas deployment, your gift today will be a great blessing.

Again, we have never seen anything quite like this -- such a widespread winter disaster that has impacted MILLIONS of people. Just getting drinking water is a challenge for many. That's why we're bringing water purifiers... TO TEXAS!

PLEASE HELP!

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. In addition to our extensive response in Texas (we'll serve thousands of meals today and thousands more over the weekend), Mercy Chefs is also ramping up our food box distributions across Oklahoma which has also been hit hard by cold and storms. As of this morning, we have TEN distributions planned today through the weekend in the Sooner State. We've also reached out this week with food boxes in North Carolina and Virginia. But right now, we urgently need help in Texas! We're serving meals TODAY! Go here:
