Rush Limbaugh Tribute

In honor of Rush's life and legacy, share how the "Great One" impacted your life and our nation....

Rush Limbaugh was one of the nation's leading conservative voices for more than three decades. He championed America's founding ideals of liberty and limited government like few talk-radio hosts ever. On Wednesday, February 17, at the start of "The Rush Limbaugh Show," his wife Kathryn announced that he died from lung cancer at the age of 70.

We're saddened by his passing and what it will mean to the future of the conservative movement in America. But we are grateful for the decades that he served as such a strong voice for this great nation. Please join us in praying for his family and friends during their time of loss.

(Grassfire President Steve Elliott's Tribute.)

Please use this "Rush Tribute" to share how Rush impacted you personally and how grateful you are for the way he has impacted our nation.

Rush was the epitome of a patriot. He is on par with the founding fathers. God blessed this earth with 70 years. Rush was one of 3 people that I always wanted to meet. Now it will have to wait until I meet him in heaven!

I have always been conservative, but never heard my beliefs expressed on radio by anyone until about 1990 when a friend told me I needed to listen to this guy. I tuned in the next day and never stopped listening after that. Rush expressed what I believed and felt and was a tremendous encouragement to me and other conservatives in my social group. May God rest his soul. Bob S.

Rush had a special way of explaining events and putting an optimistic spin on them. He was entertaining too! We will miss him terribly! Prayers for all his family at this very sad time.

Rush Limbaugh, a valiant soldier for right; addressing wrong as wrong without apology. Rush will be missed and no replacement can take his place. Personally, I am especially thankful he was a believer in Jesus Christ and those of us who are the children of God will see Rush again.

Rush was one of the leading voices that turned me from a raging Liberal to a Conservative more than 20 years ago.

He will be sorely missed, but his legacy lives on!

    God Bless!

It’s hard to believe he’s gone, and it’s hard to imagine the last 30 years of my adult life without Rush.

I can distinctly recall the first time I heard Rush. It was 1990 and my wife and I had just relocated to Virginia for graduate school. I was driving down I-64 when I stumbled upon this voice… that resonated inside of me… a voice of reason in a world of chaos and confusion.

That voice was the voice of Rush Limbaugh.

Soon thereafter, my lunch breaks were consumed with sitting in my car and listening to Rush. I hadn’t listened to much AM radio since I was a young boy listening to baseball games late into the evening. Now, in the middle of the day, there I was having lunch “with” Rush.

For the next three decades, Rush has been the “background music” always playing in my conservative world. He always made me smile and laugh. Yet he always brought a keen insight that I couldn’t find anywhere else. And every time there was a seemingly earth-shattering political story, me and millions of conservatives would have our radios tuned to Rush as the intro music played.

What would Rush say? How will he interpret the events? And most importantly, what will Rush say we need to do next?

It wasn’t even so much that Rush would tell us what to do. Instead, he would put the political disaster in a larger context and give us a reason to hope along with confidence that we would find our way forward.

Right through the 2020 elections, I would tune into Rush — now through his podcast as I took my daily walks. Rush always had the best and clearest perspective. He made things understandable. And he somehow always had insight into what was just around the bend.

In these final weeks and month, he reminded us all about what’s just around the bend for each of us. Rush was unashamed about his gratitude for each day and unashamed about his faith in Christ which guided him, I’m sure to his final breath.

Rush, thanks. You truly have been, as you often said, our “guiding light through times of trouble, confusion, murkiness, tumult, chaos, misdirection, and even good times.” Well done.

    Steve Elliott, Grassfire
