ACTION NEEDED: TRUMP GRAND JURY RECONVENES TODAY!

The Wall Street Journal reports that the Manhattan grand jury investigating President Trump "is expected to reconvene" today. But the newspaper also says, "Its agenda for the week isn't clear."

What is clear is the agenda of New York City's District Attorney Alvin Bragg. He's involved in what George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley calls "a political prosecution" that's "beyond the pale."

Professor Emeritus at Harvard Law School, Alan Dershowitz, says Bragg risks being disbarred if he pursues an indictment using testimony from Mr. Trump's former attorney Michael Cohen. Dershowitz told FOX News yesterday:

"If he uses Cohen as a witness, he could actually lose his bar license. It's unethical to put a witness on the stand who you know is lying, and he has to know that Cohen will be lying. Or he tries the case without Cohen, which is very difficult, or he does the right thing: He drops the case."

It appeared last week that Bragg might be getting cold feet regarding his efforts to indict President Trump over an alleged crime that the Justice Department and Federal Election Commission refused to pursue. But House Republicans continue to demand answers from Manhattan's DA. According to The Wall Street Journal, the GOP was still pushing Bragg for answers yesterday:

U.S. Rep. James Comer (R., Ky.) questioned the authority of Mr. Bragg to investigate a presidential candidate. "We believe that he should come explain to us exactly what he’s investigating, because, at the end of the day, this is a presidential candidate," Mr. Comer said on CNN. "Clearly, if there was a reason for prosecution, it should be done by the Department of Justice on the federal level."
