Sunday afternoon from Mayfield, KY:
I arrived with our team yesterday and we immediately began preparing and serving meals. Thanks to your support, we served our first meals less than 24 hours after the tornado struck.
Today, we're providing hot meals to victims, first responders and volunteers. The need here is great and the community is still very much reeling from what just happened.
I've seen many disasters. This tornado strike is as bad if not worse than any tornado Mercy Chefs has responded to. The death toll has climbed to 90 -- 80 in Kentucky alone. Mayfield is at the epicenter of the worst damage.
Simply put, I need help TODAY as we serve hot meals in this devastated community and prepare for thousands of meals in the coming days. Go here to make your best possible gift to help Mercy Chefs feed tornado victims and volunteers in devastated Mayfield.
P.S. Thanks to those who helped yesterday. Your support is a great blessing! I'm asking every Mercy Chefs friend to partner with us right now. I'll be sharing more soon. Go here:
P.P.S. Here's one of the first meals we served in Mayfield. Every meal is made possible by friends like you. On behalf of the victims and volunteers here, thanks in advance!
