Grassfire
As Americans, we definitely live in "a time for choosing." With the 2024 election now just 46 days away, Grassfire has been thinking a lot about the famous speech of the same name that Ronald Reagan delivered almost 60 years ago.
It was October 27, 1964, but Reagan's words then are even more chilling and more prescient today. The man who, 16 years later, would become America's 40th president spoke about how "if we lose freedom here, there's no place to escape to." He also said this:
"You and I have a rendezvous with destiny. We'll preserve for our children this, the last best hope of man on earth, or we'll sentence them to take the last step into a thousand years of darkness."
The speech's 60th anniversary is October 27 -- only nine days before Election Day. Grassfire wants to remind our team members about the impact of what Reagan simply called "The Speech" in 1964. As America approaches November 5th, we think his words of warning then, hold even greater weight now.
