Grassfire
A week ago, during a Coronavirus Task Force briefing, President Trump said: "I see the disinfectant that knocks (COVID-19) out in a minute, one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning? As you see, it gets in the lungs, it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it would be interesting to check that."
Of course, the Left took those comments out of context and immediately began ridiculing the President. Critics insisted he had urged coronavirus sufferers to inject disinfectants into their bodies -- or worse, "ingest" them. But as you can clearly see in the transcript above, Mr. Trump made no mention of Lysol, Clorox or any other type of store-bought cleaning agent.
Also, the President was speaking directly to this team of doctors and asking questions. Most reasonable people would agree that he was just thinking out loud -- but not House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). She was still peddling the Left's lie this week. On Tuesday, five days after Mr. Trump's comments, she told MSNBC:
"(The President) makes a big fuss about my having ice cream in my freezer. ... I guess that’s better than having Lysol in somebody’s lungs, as he was suggesting."
Our Commander-in-Chief did, in fact, call out the divisive Speaker for showing off her stash of $12 pints of ice cream on late night television recently, but at least he wasn't lying. Pelosi stood in front of her expensive, luxury appliances, holding an ice-cream bar and smiling for the camera.
At the time, she also was holding up legislation to replenish the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). Enacted by the federal government to help millions of Americans thrown out of work by COVID-19, PPP had run out of funds. The Speaker not only stalled the start of the emergency program, she also callously dragged her feet when the GOP introduced legislation to provide additional financial support for the unemployed.
Pelosi and her allies on the Left should be ashamed of themselves, and the American people should call them out! Even in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis, Pelosi STILL can't manage to put aside her hyper-partisan, anti-American hate for President Trump.
