About two hours after Grassfire launched the "Fill That Seat!" FaxFire, Sen. Lindsey Graham doubled down on Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's (R-KY) promise to vote on President Trump's forthcoming nominee for the Supreme Court. Graham told Sean Hannity on FOX News last night:

"We've got the votes to confirm Justice Ginsburg's replacement before the election. We're going to move forward... After [the confirmation of Brett] Kavanaugh, everything changed with me. (Protestors) are not going to intimidate me, Mitch McConnell or anybody else."

The battle over filling the Supreme Court seat left vacant by Justice Ginsburg's death is already getting ugly. Confirming President Trump's nominee, who he's expected to announce this weekend, will require at least 50 GOP votes.

Monday night:

President Trump found out from journalists that Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died. He had just left the stage at a rally in Minnesota Friday night and was walking toward Air Force 1. His response was genuine, moving and, quite frankly, presidential.

"She just died?" he asked. "Wow. I didn't know that. You’re telling me now for the first time. She led an amazing life. What else can you say? She was an amazing woman. Whether you agreed or not, she was an amazing woman who led an amazing life. I’m saddened to hear that."

Out of respect for Justice Ginsburg and her family, the President won’t name a nominee for the vacant seat on the Supreme Court until Friday. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has already said, "President Trump's nominee for this vacancy will receive a vote on the floor of the Senate."

Democrats are crying foul because McConnell refused to hold hearings to confirm former President Obama's Supreme Court nominee in 2016. So Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his ilk think the Senate should wait until after Election Day to confirm a nominee in case their guy, former Vice President Joe Biden wins the presidency.

But McConnell's response to the radical Left's line of thinking is clear: "Here is what I said [in 2016] ... The Senate has not filled a vacancy arising in an election year when there was a divided government since, 1888, almost 130 years ago. ... The Senate has more than sufficient time to process a [Trump] nomination."

Since former Senator Harry Reid invoked the so-called "nuclear option" in 2013, it now only takes a simple majority of Senators to confirm a federal judge -- that includes Supreme Court justices. Senate Republicans can afford to lose just three votes to successfully confirm a Trump nominee before November 3.

So far, RINOs Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) have said they won't vote for a nominee until after the presidential election. Another key RINO, Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT) hasn't said where he stands. But given the "bad blood" between him and the President, he might not support Trump's nominee.
