Bob Woodward, the famous "Watergate" reporter, warns that Republican support for President Trump is weakening in his fight against impeachment. On Saturday, The Washington Examiner reported:

Veteran journalist Bob Woodward said Republican senators are "choking"' on President Trump's Ukraine scandal. ... Some Republicans in the upper chamber have begun to break ranks after Trump openly encouraged Ukraine and China to investigate the Bidens on Thursday. Among those who have vented publicly are Maine Sen. Susan Collins, Nebraska Sen. Ben Sasse, and Utah Sen. Mitt Romney, as a well as Texas Rep. Will Hurd in the House.

A July phone call Mr. Trump had with the then-president elect of Ukraine is the target of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's (D-CA) impeachment inquiry. During that call, the President spoke about Ukraine investigating the former vice president and current Democrat presidential front-runner Joe Biden and his son Hunter. But the elder Biden has admitted to threatening to withhold $1 billion in U.S. aid to Ukraine in 2016, if that nation didn't fire a prosecutor who was pursuing a corruption scandal involving Hunter.

On Thursday, Mr. Trump decided to "poke the hornets' nest" and suggest that China also should launch its own corruption investigation into the Bidens. That created an uproar among the leftist media, Democrats and even some Republicans.

The President refuses to be intimidated by Democrats threatening impeachment. In fact, as conservative, talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh said last week: "This is the reason you love Trump. ... Whatever it is that upsets them, he doubles down on it."
