Earlier today, Grassfire reached out to our sources on Capitol Hill for reaction to the recent USA Today report that the Senate would vote "soon" on the so-called Equality Act (H.R.5). One D.C. contact confirmed this afternoon that the newspaper's recent article was consistent with what they've heard about the anti-faith, pro-LGBTQ legislation. (That source has pledged to let us know if they "get wind" of any new information.)

This week, USA Today reported: "The Equality Act – sweeping legislation prohibiting discrimination on the basis of sex, sexual orientation and gender identity – will soon get a vote in the Senate." According to a March 5 article by The New American, after the House passed H.R.5 on February 25, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) positioned the bill so Senators could vote on it "at any time."

Now that the LGBTQ community and its allies are celebrating "pride month," Schumer has pledged to bring the bill to the Senate floor by the end of June. He'll reportedly "dare Republicans to vote against it." Joe Biden promised to pass the anti-faith, pro-homosexual and pro-transgender bill during his "First 100 Days" in office. He failed. But that won't stop Democrats from continuing to try.

If passed, the misnamed Equality Act would harm women, girls, at-risk children, the unborn and people of faith.
