From Lake Charles.

Steve,

Yesterday blew me away. I thought we might reach 8,000 meals, but by the end of the day we had served more than 9,200 meals and the lines just kept getting longer.

That's because the people of Lake Charles are hurting, and word is spreading that Mercy Chefs is here to help. We are now serving from six locations and the demand is two or three times what I expected.

This is a critical day. We have nearly exhausted the $50,000 in groceries that we brought with us to Lake Charles. Now, I must order TWO ADDITIONAL TRUCKLOADS OF FOOD.

I need help today as I step out in faith and place this order so we can keep feeding thousands of hurricane victims.

Can I count on you to sponsor hot meals for hurricane victims in Lake Charles and surrounding communities? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift:

Your gift of $50 will help sponsor 20 meals; $100 will equip us to serve 40 meals; $250 reaches 100 people. Perhaps you can sponsor 200 meals ($500) or even 400 meals ($1,000). Every gift will help.

If you already donated to our Hurricane Delta relief efforts, THANK YOU! If the Lord has blessed you and you can give again, your "extra mile" support will make a huge difference right now.

Our Mercy Chefs staff and volunteers are working late into the night just to keep up with the next day's demand. It's been a very exhausting week already, but any challenges we are facing pale in comparison to what these folks are dealing with. Homes with just-fixed roofs now need a new roof again. Thousands of families with homes that were still covered with blue tarps from Hurricane Laura are once again trying to put the pieces together.

Please pray. And please help by sponsoring 10, 20, 50, 100 or more meals -- whatever you can do.

Thanks in advance, and God bless!

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. As I noted, I must immediately order TWO MORE TRUCKLOADS of groceries. The cost will be staggering, but I must place the order so we can continue to meet the need. Will you help? We served over 9,000 meals yesterday and the demand is only increasing. Go here to sponsor meals:
