Yesterday evening I heard from Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs -- Grassfire's disaster relief partner.

The situation in Honduras in the aftermath of Hurricane Eta is absolutely tragic. Floodwaters reached the tops of homes. Thousands had to flee. People were stranded on rooftops before the waters receded. Now, they are left with mud and destruction -- and the water supply has been contaminated.

Gary's team needs help. They provided 2,000 meals, but had to turn away people when they ran out. So Mercy Chefs doubled their output but the demand continues to grow. I'm hoping the Grassfire team will band together to help this weekend by sponsoring 2,000 or even 3,000 meals. Your tax-deductible gift of $50 will help feed FIVE FAMILIES FOR FIVE DAYS; $100 will help feed TEN FAMILIESGo here to make a tax-deductible gift to help Hurricane victims in Honduras, and see below for more details from Gary.

Friday P.M.

Steve,

My heart is breaking. Yesterday, we had to turn people away

Our team in Honduras had prepared enough Family Survival Meal Packs to provide 2,000 meals. We had to turn away twice as many people as we were able to feed.

And the need is only growing.

The people are desperate. It's literally life and death for many. We are reaching into communities in Honduras where people are being forced to drink contaminated water from a stream. They are sleeping in tents or just along the edge of the stream. They have no idea where their next meal will come from.

I look at the faces of these children and I can't help but think of my new grandson. What if that were him? What if my daughter had been left homeless by a devastating storm and was forced to give my grandchild contaminated water?

Today, our Mercy Chefs team in Honduras is doubling the number of Family Survival Meal Packs we are providing. That's enough to provide 4,000 meals.

But the need is even greater.

I just need to be able to do more.

Can you help? A dollar donated today means life-saving Survival Meals for people TODAY in Honduras. Go here to make your tax-deductible gift and help us meet this urgent need:

+ + Just $50 can feed FIVE FAMILIES!

These Family Survival Meal Packs are just that -- enough to help a family survive! We are getting these families the basic necessities of life. We are purchasing the goods in Honduras, packaging the Survival Packs and transporting them to hurting communities that haven't been reached. As a result, your gift of just $50 can help us feed FIVE FAMILIES FOR FIVE DAYS.

Perhaps you can contribute $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or more. Every gift will help us right now as we work to meet this need.

Again, we had to turn people away, so we're doubling our food outreach today. I may have to double again this weekend. But to do so, I need help.

Thanks in advance, and God bless you for your faithful generosity!

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. I'm sending another team member this weekend with a second water purifier. Mercy Chefs is on the ground in Honduras meeting the critical needs of fresh water and food. This is about survival. Please help. Go here:
