Well, just as Grassfire predicted yesterday, at 2:30 AM by "voice vote," the Senate approved the Democrat-demanded Deal to fund DHS while refusing to fund ICE and immigration enforcement.
Sadly, Demcrats are more concerned with DEFENDING THE RIGHTS OF ILLEGAL ALIENS INSIDE OUR COUNTRY than actually enforcing our laws.
+ + Deal, but not total defeat.... YET
Grassfire is calling this a CAVE but not total defeat... yet.
GOP Senate leaders are still talking about including the SAVE America Act in "reconciliation," but that is a red herring (Okay, a political lie actually). They know that is impossible but it would kick the can down the road and then give GOP leaders the excuse of blaming their defeat on the Parliamentarian.
Just like they blame the ZOMBIE FILIBUSTER for not being able to get anything done.
So the question comes back to Majority Leader Thune...
Will Thune abandon the SAVE America Act
and later blame the Parliamentarian for the defeat? The answer is YES.... unless.... PATRIOTS LIGHT UP HIS OFFICE WITH FAXES AND PHONE CALLS DEMANDING THAT THE DEBATE ON THE SAVE AMERICA ACT CONTINUE.
