CPAC officials, pastors and other people of faith joined the conference call to storm the gates of heaven for America's 45th president.

"We are all troubled that President Donald J. Trump has been an 8-year victim of the Democrats' attempt to use the legal system to block, hobble, attack and now prosecute him." the CPAC invitation read. "Tuesday's events have brought our nation to a gutter-low level. Those of us who believe in our system as designed and love America need to pray for God's favor. ... Conservatives must unite now more than ever to save the country we love so dearly."

Dr. Ben Carson, Mr. Trump's former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and a retired pediatric neurosurgeon, was the "Faith and Prayer" call's featured speaker. Carson warned:

"We are going the same exact route as many others who have turned socialist or communist. ... Here's the good thing: God was willing to save Sodom and Gomorrah for the sake of ten people. I think we have more than that. We just have to seek those Judeo-Christian values, which gave us the strength and took us from a bunch of ragtag militiamen into the most powerful and influential nation the world has every known."
