FOX Business reports that Joe's next debt-limit meeting with House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) and other congressional leaders will take place TOMORROW. For months, McCarthy has been trying to negotiate with the so-called "Commander-in-Chief." But their Oval Office meeting last Tuesday was a bust, and a scheduled follow-up on Friday didn't happen.
But FOX Business says the situation "appears to have changed over the weekend. Staffs for the top four congressional leaders and the White House reportedly met on Saturday for further discussions." Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen told The Wall Street Journal this weekend, "I think the negotiations are very active. I'm told they have found some areas of agreement."
The House passed the "Limit, Save, Grow Act of 2023" (H.R. 2811) on April 26.
