The "Shutdown Showdown" Has Moved To The Senate!

The House of Representatives passed President Trump's "clean" continuing resolution (CR) on Friday with a 217 to 212 vote. Then, the battle to prevent a government shutdown on September 30 quickly moved to the Senate, where it was voted down 44 to 48 yesterday.

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) crossed the aisle to vote with Republicans, while "Queen RINO" Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and part-time RINO Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) sided with Democrats. Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and his merry band of MAGA obstructionists vow to keep up their fight, demanding U.S. taxpayers bankroll their far-left priorities.

In an "X" post on Thursday, House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) exposed what Dems want:

  • FREE health insurance for ILLEGAL ALIENS
  • $500 million for LIBERAL news outlets
  • A massive $1.5 TRILLION spending HIKE

The Upper Chamber requires a 60-vote majority to approve the stop-gap bill that funds the government through November 21. With only 53 Republican Senators, seven Democrats will need to cross the aisle and join the GOP in supporting the House CR. At this point, even President Trump admits a federal government shutdown on September 30 is likely.
