Yesterday, the Dems again rejected the "Clean" Continuing Resolution (CR), causing the "Schumer Shutdown" of the federal government at Midnight.

Democrats are still claiming that Republicans are destroying "healthcare", when the facts are this:

In exchange for their votes to re-open the government, Democrats are demanding another massive expansion of government and a rejection of President Trump's Big Beautiful Bill.

The Committee for a Responsible Budget estimates that the Dem's blackmail demands "would add roughly $1.5 TRILLION to the debt." Two key elements of the Dem's demands are:

1. Taxpayer funded healthcare for ILLEGAL ALIENS; and
   
   
2. Continuing the massive Covid-ObamaCare expansion that is bankrupting healthcare by subsidizing health insurance even for people making hundreds of thousands of dollars!

Paragon Health Institute reports:

"Biden’s COVID credits result in federal taxpayers significantly subsidizing health insurance for households in the top 10 percent of earners—some households making more than $500,000."

Republicans have agreed to debate the expanded ObamaCare subsidies but not under the "blackmail" threat of the government shutdown.

Yesterday, three Democrats joined with Republicans to support funding the government with a "Clean" bill -- two more than for the first vote. As Punchbowl News reports, "With two new Democratic defections, Senate Majority Leader John Thune is betting that pressure will continue to build on those moderates."
