Demand Republicans "Ban TikTok!" AND "Reject The RESTRICT Act!"

Former U.S. Representative Tulsi Gabbard (D-HI) issued a grim warning about the RESTRICT Act last week. A bipartisan group of U.S. lawmakers say TikTiok's ability to collect user data poses serious national-security and privacy risks, but they want to ban the video-sharing app with legislation that threatens every Americans' First Amendment rights. In a video posted on her Twitter account recently, Gabbard says:

"The Restrict Act not only makes it illegal for Americans to use TikTok, it is the Patriot Act 2.0 for the Internet. It would give unelected bureaucrats in the Department of Commerce complete and unfettered access to all the data in our computers, our phones, security cameras, Internet browsing history, payment applications and so much more.

"It throws the Freedom of Information Act completely out the window. No transparency whatsoever. And it criminalizes the use of VPNs with up to 20 years in prison and $1,000,000 in fines. Dangerously, we can't even challenge this in court. Now, this is a direct threat to our fundamental constitutional rights and freedoms, and it's a threat to our democracy. We cannot allow this to pass."

Due to the media circus over the past few weeks caused by President Trump's arrest and arraignment, the RESTRICT Act controversy has been an "under-the-radar" story. But the truth is that TikTok's collection of user data is a clear-and-present danger to America's safety and sovereignty. At the same time, the RESTRICT Act is a threat to your First Amendment right to free speech.

If you think Congress should take a different path to stop the social-media app from posing nation-security and privacy risks, take action by clicking here to add your name to the "Ban TikTok!" and "Reject The RESTRICT Act!" national petition now. Thanks, in advance, for making your voice heard tonight.

Standing for life, liberty and limited government,

The Grassfire Team

P.S. The petition states: "TikTok's ability to collect data from the user's device poses nation-security and privacy risks. That makes the popular social-media platform a threat to the United States' safety and sovereignty! But banning the video-sharing app via the RESTRICT Act would infringe on Americans' Freedom of Speech. So, I'm signing this national petition to demand Congress take action to ban TikTok, while also protecting the First Amendment rights of U.S. citizens."
