Just as we predicted, LBGT activists are turning up the heat on the targeted GOP Senators who can get the Equality Act through the Senate. Pop star Taylor Swift joined the crusade this week with her own massive grassroots campaign targeting Sen. Lamar Alexander -- one of the 12 Grassfire identified last week as likely targets.

Swift if rallying her social media network and has even launched her own petition to pressure Alexander and the others. With the Senate back in session this week, we want to give citizens an opportunity to counter the efforts of Swift and others.

As of this morning, Grassfire has gathered just over 16,000 petitions to STOP THE EQUALITY ACT. As soon as we reach 20,000, we will start HAND-DELIVERING petitions to these vulnerable GOP Senators -- beginning with Sen. Alexander.

+ + Dems confirm that this is a radically anti-faith, anti-family and anti-life bill

In fast-tracking the Equality Act through the House, Democrats in that chamber confirmed the radical nature of the bill by rejecting several amendments proposed by Republicans. As Madeleine Kearns reported in National Review:

• Rep. McClintock's amendment to prevent doctors from being forced to affirm a minor's choice of gender identity was rejected.
• Rep. Steube's amendment to protect girls from competing with boys in athletics was rejected.
• Rep. Johnson's amendment to ensure that the bill could not be “construed to deny a parent’s right to be involved in their minor child’s medical care" was rejected.
• Rep. Gohmert's amendment to restore the Religious Freedom Restoration Act was rejected.

That means Democrats AFFIRMED that the Equality Act is an attack on people of faith, supersedes parental rights, destroys women's athletics, and can force a doctor or a hospital to medically support a minor's gender choice. This confirms that this is one of the most radical and far-reaching bills ever to come before Congress.

The Equality Act is too far-reaching and the ramifications are widespread:

The Equality Act rewrites the Civil Liberties Act of 1964 by elevating "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to a protected status. It nullifies the Religious Freedom Restoration Act regarding LGBT issues. It specifically forbids citizens or organizations from raising a religious free exercise claim as a defense against it!

The Act is a parental nightmare by placing Big Brother as the ultimate authority over all things "gender related," including overriding the will of parents, as we're already seeing played out in the courts and legislatures. It MANDATES that doctors and hospitals perform sex-change operations on teenagers.

The Equality Act is now headed to the U.S. Senate. Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer (D-NY) and other pro-LGBT Senators are already pressuring Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) to hold a Senate vote on the Act.
