Just four days after announcing to his 20 million listeners that he had lung cancer, Rush Limbaugh was back on the air. On Friday, February 7, he shared details of his phone call from President Trump three days earlier, inviting him to the State of the Union Address.

Rush admitted that he held off on having a "serious medical procedure" so he could travel to Washington, D.C. to attend. He said the President promised him, "You don't want to miss this. It's gonna be great." Then Mr. Trump surprised Rush by having the First Lady present him with the Medal of Freedom during the speech.

In addition to sharing the State of the Union backstory, Rush also explained to his listeners: "It's late stage. It's advanced lung cancer. But there's good news associated with the diagnosis and the treatment." While the conservative talk-radio icon didn't offer additional details, he did express confidence in his team of "great doctors" who have "already discovered some interesting things that should facilitate treatment."

In response to Rush's lung-cancer diagnosis, Grassfire is giving our team members the opportunity to thank him for his service to our great nation and to wish him a quick and full recovery from the dreaded disease.
