Dear Senator,

I'm writing to you to urge you to support the PELOSI Act (the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act) or similar legislation that prohibits members of Congress from trading in stocks while serving in Congress.

Service in Congress should not be a glidepath to financial riches through what amounts to "insider" trading. The bill's namesake, Rep. Nancy Pelosi, for example, has converted her Congressional salary into over $250 million in net worth. Last year, Pelosi's stock trades far exceeded the market index. This must stop.

As Sen. Josh Hawley who introduced the bill said, "It’s time we ban all members of Congress from trading and holding stocks and restore Americans’ trust in our nation’s legislative body.” I urge you to support the PELOSI Act.
