Subject: North Carolia DISASTER -- help needed this weekend!

Friday Update from North Carolina--

The crisis in North Carolina is getting more urgent. Entire communities are beyond devastated. Officials are still trying to get roads open. Asheville is not expected to have running water for WEEKS as the main pumping station has been severely damaged. And we are hearing reports that the morgues are completely filled. This is beyond tragic.

Mercy Chefs is expanding our hot meal distribution in North Carolina. We are now providing hot, chef-prepared meals for both lunch and dinner at four locations in and around Asheville. These meals are reaching the hardest hit communities.

We have now distributed over 60,000 meals in response to Helene, including more than 11,000 yesterday in North Carolina.
That number will likely increase in the coming days as we reach more and more people in need.

This weekend is absolutely critical. We are committing more resources to help the folks in western North Carolina. Will you stand with us as we stand with these families who are still in urgent need? Go here to sponsor hot meals for Helene victims while we continue other vital outreaches:

The stories we are hearing from the families we're feeding are beyond belief. We met Marlene who told us she was trapped in her home with her two children due to the flooding for two days. Her brother finally rescued them. Marlene is so grateful for the meals, both lunch and dinner, that Mercy Chefs has provided to her family at our distribution point in Flat Rock. She tells us the meals you are helping to provide have meant the world to her and her family.

Thank you for sending us. Because of you, Mercy Chefs is serving hope, love, and hot meals right in the middle of one of the worst natural disasters in recent history.

Please keep praying. And thanks in advance for your continued support.

Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs
