Nancy Pelosi made another $5.5 MILLION in the stock market last month and has now amassed
a fortune of $278.5 MILLION -- almost all of it since she became a member of Congress.
Last month the New York Post reported that the Pelosi's had earned a 16,930% return on their stock investments during her time in Congress. According to the New York Post:
"Before first taking Congressional office in 1987, the then-47-year-old freshman and her hubby, venture capitalist Paul Pelosi, reported between $610,000 and $785,000 in stocks in their portfolio... That portfolio has soared to $133.7 million today."
Nancy Pelosi got rich through what analysts say is the equivalent of Congressional "insider trading."
+ + It's time to stop members of Congress from getting rich off their DC insider trading!
Sen. Josh Hawley has introduced legislation that will BAN members of Congress from trading in stocks. It's aptly called the PELOSI Act (Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act).
We are expecting legislative action on bills to ban insider trading by members of Congress IN EARLY JANUARY. Grassfire has launched a National Petition
to support the PELOSI ACT.
If you think Nancy Pelosi and members of Congress should NOT be profiteering off their elected office, then sign Grassfire's petition supporting the PELOSI ACT. Go here to sign and we will add your name to this petition for delivery in early January:
As Sen. Hawley said when introducing the bill, "It’s time we ban all members of Congress from trading and holding stocks and restore Americans’ trust in our nation’s legislative body.”
Thank you for taking action!
