Good afternoon.

The Senate will convene at 3:00 pm and resume consideration of Christine P. O'Hearn to be a U.S. District Judge for the District of New Jersey.

Today

At 5:30 pm, the Senate will proceed to a roll call vote on:

·         Confirmation of Gustavo A. Gelpi to be a U.S. Circuit Judge for the First Circuit

This week in the latest Democrat Partisan Power Grab Attempt(s)

Last Thursday, Senator Chuck Schumer (D-ManchinPenPal) sent a letter to his conference to assure them Democrats are not in disarray (it seems they are) and told them he intends to file cloture on S.2747, the ridiculously named Klobuchar Freedom to Vote (Cheat) Act. This cloture vote on a motion to proceed (MTP), despite the Schumer letter stating “Senator Manchin has been engaged in conversations with our Republicans colleagues. . .” will fail.

Additionally, Leader Schumer may also attempt to proceed to the recently introduced S.4, the Patrick Leahy sponsored John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act, the Senate companion to the atrocious H.R.4.

This bill, like the others, seeks to install federal dominance over elections by empowering the Justice Department to go after jurisdictions that don’t align with the liberal-progressive view of the world . . . sort of like targeting parents who would dare to question school boards about what is taught to their children.
