Dear Member of Congress,

I'm writing to implore you to vote YES on the Laken Riley Act and to reject any amendments that weaken the bill.

Last spring, college student Laken Riley was murdered by an illegal alien who had been released after previously committing a crime. The Laken Riley Act requires federal authorities detain illegal aliens accused of crimes such as burglary, theft, or shoplifting. The bill also lets states sue the federal government for not enforcing immigration law!

Also, I urge you to only support amendments like  "Sarah's Law" that expands the Act to require the detention of illegal aliens who are involved in crimes that cause death or serious bodily injury.  

What happened to Laken Riley is a tragedy that, sadly, has been repeated time and time again. We must detain illegal aliens who commit crimes and hold the federal government accountable to uphold immigration laws.
