For weeks, John Thune has insisted that he will not cancel or delay the Senate's 5-week vacation to debate or pass the SAVE Act.

Thune has consistently said (even yesterday) that there aren't enough Republican votes to pass the Reconciliation 3.0 bill (with elements of the SAVE Act), nor are there 50 GOP votes to force a real debate on the SAVE America Act.

Translation: Thune is covering for a handful of GOP RINOs who, with Thune, control the entire Senate and are blocking the most important aspects of President Trump's agenda.

President Trump ramped up the pressure on Thune yesterday, refusing to give his unconditional support for Thune as Majority Leader moving forward.
