Please see below -- Ida victims in Louisiana are facing a desperate situation this weekend...
Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs -- Grassfire's disaster relief partner -- tells me people have gone days without a real meal. And hundreds of thousands are still without power! All of New Orleans is without power!
Gary's team could serve over 40,000 meals this holiday weekend. I'm hoping the Grassfire team will step forward and sponsor 5,000 of those meals IN THE NEXT 24 HOURS to help with this crisis.
Could you help by sponsoring 10, 20, 30 or even 50 or more meals? Go here to sponsor meals for Hurricane Ida victims.
And please see Gary's message below.
Steve Elliott, Grassfire
P.S. My family has sponsored 60 meals. Would you consider sponsoring 30 or even matching our 60 meals? Every gift will help sponsor meals. Go here:

People are telling us they haven't had a meal in FOUR DAYS! I urgently need help. Go here to help feed Ida victims RIGHT NOW and see below for the latest. --Gary
The situation here is as desperate and difficult as we've ever faced...
I can't even tell you how many people we've fed in the past 24 hours who told us they HADN'T HAD A MEAL IN FOUR DAYS.
Today, we're pushing our capacity -- 15,000 HOT MEALS! Our Mercy Chefs team is working all day to meet the need. We had 5,500 meals ready by 10:30 THIS MORNING. And it never stops. As fast as we can prepare them, the meals are reaching Ida victims who have no place else to turn! We are in an area of immense need and we have not yet seen other relief organizations here. Just Mercy Chefs. And word is spreading. Our cell phones are ringing all night with urgent calls for help.
I just got a call from Killian (northwest of our location) pleading with us for food and water. My contact there says HALF THE HOMES still are under FEET OF WATER and they've received ZERO OUTSIDE HELP! This is yet another desperate cry for help that Mercy Chefs must answer!
I'm issuing an EMERGENCY CALL to every friend of Mercy Chefs. WE NEED YOUR PARTNERSHIP RIGHT NOW so we can do everything we can to meet these urgent needs!
PLEASE PRAYERFULLY CONSIDER what you can do to help Mercy Chefs feed tens of thousands of Hurricane Ida victims -- some who have gone days without food. Go here to help sponsor 10, 20, 50, 100, 350, or even 1,000 meals for Hurricane Ida victims in Louisiana who desperately need our help:
The costs are astronomical. We are going through truckloads and truckloads of groceries -- 97 cases of chicken... GONE! 11,000 pieces of bread... in and out of the oven. And there seems to be no end to the need here. As soon as we get one delivery, it's gone within a day and I must order more. But each shipment costs THOUSANDS of dollars!
Despite the difficulties, your support is equipping Mercy Chefs to bring practical relief AND hope to folks who feel like they've been forgotten. As I noted, we haven't seen nearly enough relief efforts coming to help, and we are in an area of immense need where people have gone without food for days.
The next 48 hours are CRITICAL. We need your prayers AND your financial support if we are to have any hope of keeping up with the need.
Please sponsor 10, 20, 50, 100, 500, 1,000 or more meals by going here.
Thanks in advance, and God bless,
Gary LeBlanc, Mercy Chefs

P.S. The stories we are hearing break our hearts. A man we served yesterday was planning on coming back and volunteering today. But when he returned home, his house had caught on fire from his generator. Tragedy upon tragedy. Again, there is NO END to the need. Please help. If you haven't donated yet to help us with Ida relief, PLEASE DO SO TODAY! If you already gave, please consider giving again. The need is that urgent. Go here:
