When we first started working on the immigration/border security issue in the mid 2000s, we felt considerable pushback, even from our own grassroots team. Many conservatives held President Bush's "compassionate" view, or at least didn't want to wear the stigma of being anti-immigrant.
By 2008, that perception had changed, and Grassfire helped changed it.
We ran TV spots nationwide that had a big impact. We sponsored massive highway billboards that drew national medial attention. And we rallied hundreds of thousands of people to call on Congress to fund and the President to build the border wall.
One of our petition efforts culminated with a high-profile petition delivery and media event on Capitol Hill. Following the delivery, we produced this video report for our team members which included highlights from that delivery.
