Dear Senator,
I'm calling on the House to pass the rescissions bill and send it to President Trump by the July 18 deadline. Congress should make of President Trump's spending cuts permanent, starting with this $9 billion rescissions package that members are voting on.
I am outraged that some in Congress are resisting what is a relatively minuscule cut in spending -- just over one-tenth of one percent of federal spending. If Congress cannot cut .1% of federal spending on a budget that is $2 TRILLION in the red, then shame on you!
Also, please note that $9 billion is not enough. Congress should make permanent all the waste and fraud that DOGE has identified. So my message is two-fold. First, you MUST pass this first $9 billion rescissions package. Second, if you stop there, then you are just another Big Government politician who is hiding behind the symbolism of this small cut.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Citizen
