Dear Senator,

I'm faxing you today to demand Senate Republicans replace Mitch McConnell with a new Minority Leader who fully supports President Trump and his "America First" agenda. Sen. McConnell's inflammatory attacks against America's 45th president should disqualify him from leadership.

Just minutes after the Democrats' second attempt to impeach President Trump failed, the Minority Leader launched one of the most hateful, mean-spirited attacks against a former American president -- EVER. Despite voting to acquit America's 45th president, Sen. McConnell said from the Senate floor that the events of January 6 were a "disgraceful dereliction of duty," adding:

"There's no question – none – that President Trump is practically and morally responsible for provoking the events of the day."

Then, on Presidents' Day, The Wall Street Journal published an op-ed from the Senate Majority Leader in which he trashed Trump again! While stating that his vote to acquit was based on the Constitution, McConnell doubled down on his earlier comments about January 6:

There is no question former President Trump bears moral responsibility. His supporters stormed the Capitol because of the unhinged falsehoods he shouted into the world’s largest megaphone. His behavior during and after the chaos was also unconscionable.

Sen. McConnell also implied that, even though "45" wasn't convicted by the Senate, he still could be subject to criminal and/or civil prosecution:

Former officials are 'still liable to be tried and punished in the ordinary tribunals of justice.' Criminal law and civil litigation ensure there is no so-called January exemption.

The current Minority "Leader" simply does NOT deserve to be the top Republican in the Upper Chamber if he's constantly stabbing President Trump in the back. That's not leadership! It's divisive, unproductive and has NO place in the GOP.

POLITICO recently reported: "81% of Republican respondents gave (Trump) positive marks." That same poll also revealed: "Fifty-nine percent of Republican voters said they want Trump to play a major role in their party going forward." How can Sen. McConnell lead a party with so many people directly opposed to what he thinks? I agree with Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who recently said this to Chris Wallace on FOX News:

"Donald Trump is the most vibrant member of the Republican Party. The Trump movement is alive and well. People believe that he brought change to Washington policy wise that was long overdue. ... The most potent force in the Republican party is President Trump."

Please caucus with your fellow Republicans and "Ditch Mitch!" ASAP in favor of a new leader who's more aligned with President Trump and the 74 million-plus Americans who voted for him. Please note that I am monitoring how you and the entire Senate GOP's response to my call to action. "Ditch Mitch!" before his poor leadership dooms the Republican Party in 2022. Thank you for your time and attention to my call to action.

Sincerely,

A Concerned American Taxpayer
