Democrats again voted to keep the government shut down and also blocked a vote to pass the Defense Appropriations bill that included pay for our military.

+ + Dems turning backs on military?

As we noted, this indicated that the Schumer Shutdown is nothing more than a SCHUMER SHAKEDOWN to demand hundreds of billions in more spending on pet liberal projects. As Majority Leader Thune said:

“Filibustering the defense appropriations bill… suggests a level of dysfunction on their side right now that I can’t explain. These are not people who want to get things done. These are people who want to fight Trump and appease [the radical Dem base.]"

In order to appease their radical base, Dems seem willing to turn their backs on the military!

+ + Thune ramping up the pressure

Thune has indicated that he will further ramp up the pressure on the Shakedown Dems by bringing a bill to the floor early next week to pay federal workers including the military during the shutdown.

This new bill is not a full "appropriations" bill. It is a specific bill to ensure federal workers and the military receive back pay during the Dem shutdown.
