Is it possible that a Conservative REVOLT is brewing in the Senate against the TIDAL WAVE of reckless spending that will destroy our nation?

Sen. Rand Paul announced his opposition to the "Big, Beautiful Bill" because it explodes the debt and sanctions another $5 TRILLION in deficits over the next two years.

Here's what Sen. Paul said:

Sen. Ron Johnson says the House bill doesn't have any real cuts and, therefore, he cannot support the House bill. He says the bill MUST reduce the deficit by returning to pre-pandemic spending levels.

And yesterday, Sen. Rick Scott announced that he is a NO on the House version of the bill:

“Oh absolutely I’d vote no.... We all know we have to balance the budget. We all know it’s getting harder to sell our treasuries. We know interest rates are going up. We want to get interest rates down, get inflation under control. That means, balance the budget.... We're spending $2 TRILLION -- TWO TRILLION -- more than we take in, and we're taking in plenty of money. It's not as if we don't have high enough taxes."

Even Sen. John Cornyn has been critical of the House bill calling it a "card trick" that is "pretending to do cuts and not really getting the job done."

Republicans cannot simply repeat the Big Spending mistakes that have led us to the very edge of this fiscal cliff. There is a better way forward. Congress should return our nation to the pre-pandemic spending levels because, as everyone except Congress has noticed, the pandemic is over.

So far, a Republican President and a GOP Congress have NOT been able to claw back any of that extra "pandemic" spending (as we've noted, the "savings" they talk about aren't actually cuts -- they are decreases in projected increases, as if that makes any sense).
