The illegal invasion and Democrat obstruction has created a massive humanitarian crisis on the U.S. side of the border. President Trump has requested $4.5 billion in emergency funding to deal with this crisis while he continues to press for more border security to stop the flow of illegal immigration.

Yesterday, the GOP-led Senate Appropriations Committee approved the $4.5 billion in supplemental funding. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell plans to have the full Senate vote on the bill next week before their July 4th recess. As a shot across the bow to Democrats, Leader McConnell said of the crisis and pending vote...

"There is only one way to fix this. Bipartisan legislation with supplemental border funding is what we need to do. So for everyone's sake, I think the entire country is hoping that Democrats remember their job is governing, not resisting,"

But congressional Democrats have repeatedly displayed their anti-Trump position by opposing EVERYTHING the President does! Majority Leader McConnell calls it "Trump derangement syndrome"! Right now, House Democrats are drafting their own emergency funding plan in order to avoid the optics of supporting any of Trump's immigration and border policies.

+ + Congress has "failed."

Mark Morgan, the acting director of Immigration and Customs Enforcement ICE), has openly declared that Congress had "failed” in adopting comprehensive immigration and border security measures.

As reported by the New York Times, "The situation at the southwestern border — in May, more than 144,200 migrants were taken into custody there, the highest monthly total in 13 years."

While this $4.5 billion supplemental funding bill is a stop-gap measure, it is vital that Congress take action and provide ICE the tools they need to help curb the border crisis.
