URGENT GRASSFIRE CITIZEN ALERT:
Anti-Faith "Equality Act" Betrays Christian Citizens. Action Needed!
The Pelosi-led, Democrat-controlled House of Representatives along with eight Republicans undermined America's long-held tenets of religious freedom and freedom of speech by passing the erroneously named "Equality Act" by a vote of 236-173.
The so-called "Equality Act" rewrites the Civil Liberties Act of 1964 by elevating "sexual orientation" and "gender identity" to a protected status.
The Act betrays America's believers and effectively criminalizes Christianity by putting us in legal and civil jeopardy for standing against the LGBTQ agenda. It nullifies the Religious Freedom Restoration Act forcing Christians to violate their sincerely held beliefs. The bill does not exempt churches, religious organizations, or Christian schools. In fact, this hostile new bill specifically forbids citizens or organizations from raising a religious free exercise claim as a defense against it!
The Act also shatters some of the rights and protections for women. It destroys the distinctions between male and female. It empowers men who identify as a woman to compete against women in sporting events. It forces biological women to share bathrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities with transgenders.
Representative Vicky Hartzler (R-MO), an outspoken opponent of the Equality Act warned in an op-ed:
"The Equality Act enshrines inequality for women, girls, parents, and children, into federal law. This is an imminent threat to the common good, freedom, and the American dream that I work every day to preserve..." Prior to the vote, she reminded lawmakers, "In fact, this bill legalizes discrimination — government imposed top-down discrimination against those with time-honored views of marriage and gender."
The Equality Act ushers in government-imposed ideology and unfairness. It is about stripping away religious liberties and putting people of faith on the wrong side of the law!
Dr. James Dobson has warned that the anti-faith Equality Act "is nothing but a thinly veiled attempt to finish off religious liberty in America once and for all..."
