At 9:17 p.m. ET yesterday, Grassfire staff received an email update from Senate Majority Leader John Thune's (R-SD) office. Attached was a "Budget One Pager" that highlighted key elements of the Republicans' current plan for a spending resolution. (Click here to see a copy.)

The one-pager contained a lot of great information. It stated the GOP's intent "to deliver on our promise to cut taxes, secure our border, and fund our military." But something VERY IMPORTANT was missing that left us scratching our heads and asking:

"Where are the spending cuts, GOP???"

Elon Musk and his DOGE team, along with several members of President Trump's cabinet, are saving taxpayers BILLIONS and BILLIONS of dollars. Why are Republican Senators ignoring the obvious need to rein in runaway government spending as part of their "reconciliation bill"?
