In a FOX News interview on Sunday, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) gave one two reasons for releasing more than 40,000 hours of surveillance footage from January 6, 2021 on Capitol Hill. First, he wants "transparency." Second, he wants "equal justice under the law." Also, in his comments earlier this week, the Speaker called out House Democrats and RINOs for lying to the American people:
"The January 6th Committee was not honest with us. ... It's not 14,000 hours of tape. There's 41,000 hours of tape. Let everyone see them to bring their own judgement. The one thing I understand in America, we should have equal justice. What really raises the point with me is, why did I watch federal courts, why did I watch cities burn... and nobody arrested there? I think we should have equal justice across this country, and we should have transparency."
Those reasons are EXACTLY why "America First" patriots are demanding McCarthy publicly release ALL surveillance video from the Capitol on January 6 now. Tucker Carlson and FOX News have been going through the footage for weeks. The Speaker has promised to "slowly roll out" the tapes. (See our previous update below.) But the American people shouldn't have to wait!
We commend McCarthy for his transparency and desire for equal justice, but more must be done. He must release all the video now! Tuesday afternoon:
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) says all news agencies will have access to the January 6 footage he released to Tucker Carlson and FOX News in February. But McCarthy told "America Reports" on Sunday that it won't happen right away:
"I didn't give [Carlson] the tapes, I allowed him to come see them, just like an exclusive with anybody else. My goal here is transparency, and we will slowly roll out to every individual news agency. They could come see the tapes as well."
"Slowly roll out"? Why? The American people have been waiting more than two years for "transparency" about the claimed "insurrection" on Capitol Hill. Most of what was captured that day has been withheld entirely.
Until Tucker Carlson, the footage America did see was hand-picked by Democrats to show the protests in the worst possible light. The video, the cameras that recorded it, and the buildings where they are mounted belong to American taxpayers.
