Rush Limbaugh Tribute

In honor of Rush's life and legacy, share how the "Great One" impacted your life and our nation....

Rush Limbaugh was one of the nation's leading conservative voices for more than three decades. He championed America's founding ideals of liberty and limited government like few talk-radio hosts ever. On Wednesday, February 17, at the start of "The Rush Limbaugh Show," his wife Kathryn announced that he died from lung cancer at the age of 70.

We're saddened by his passing and what it will mean to the future of the conservative movement in America. But we are grateful for the decades that he served as such a strong voice for this great nation. Please join us in praying for his family and friends during their time of loss.

(Grassfire President Steve Elliott's Tribute.)

Please use this "Rush Tribute" to share how Rush impacted you personally and how grateful you are for the way he has impacted our nation.

He always helped me make sense of what was going on politically. His sense of humor about what was going on kept me going when the Democrats made life hard.

I will miss listening to him on the radio. He made my days brighter and gave me hope.

I first heard Rush during a visit to California. I did not realize that he would open a whole new world of political thinking into my life. Someone was finally saying what I believed! In the following years he became a companion, an inspiration, a part of the family that traveled with me to work, at home, on vacation, on long lonely drives, walking the dog, skiing, biking, fishing, cutting grass. He was there for me during those times and I pray he knew I (we, his family) was/were with him through his life journeys, challenges and medical struggles. I pray his extended family i.e. his listeners find each other, remain strong in our beliefs, and can band together and carry out his/our dream for our nation. Rest easy in Paridise Rush Limbaugh and may God continue to hold you in the palm of His loving hand.

I started listening to Rush in the mid 90’s. His intuitive and concise dissection of truth and liberty immediately caught my attention and held it for decades. I always appreciated his unapologetic declaration of conservative, God-fearing values. I will try to emulate him as best I can, but inevitably I will fall short! Thank you Rush for your life of service and your wonderful example to me.

You were a light in the darkness! A man who stood for truth an honesty. You blessed us each day. We thank you for standing strong against those who are trying to tear apart our Constitution. We love you and will miss you so very much!

We are praying for Kathryn and family.

This man was a titan of character – a True Conservative person – who remained True to the End. Not like some other national hosts – who became ‘Biden-lite’ after receiving a life-threatening report from a physician.

I was never interested in politics until I found Rush some 30 years ago! As a young 30 year old he blessed me with his gift of communication to make news fun and enjoyable like no one else could. I am so grateful for this man who was betrayed by the media as someone he was not!! A big heart and loved this Country! We will meet again in a kingdom from above that he is in the presence of our Heavenly Father!

Praying for his family and his lovely wife!

Rush was a Unique Individual, and I do believe that he was sent to us by God. I was a listener of Rush, from day one. I listened to him every day, and when I learned that he was ill, I prayed for him every night. So difficult to know that when I turn on my radio tomorrow, he won’t be there.

I will miss him very, much. He now walks with the Lord and the Angels, and is now free of pain. Thank you Rush for all that you have given to us all. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

I cannot even begin to explain what RUSH meant to me. I looked forward to his show and hearing his voice every weekday at 11 AM. I have to say when I turned him on this morning, and heard Katherine’s voice, I knew… We have been praying for him for months, he will be so missed by so many. He impacted and taught so many of us over the years. He was the good friend that we never really met. No one will ever be able to fill his shoes, he is the great Maha Rushie! I am saddened that we will never be able to hear his voice again on this side of heaven, but at the same time I’m happy that the Lord chose to spare him from the evil that was sure to come his way in a full court press. I am grateful that he knows Jesus, and that he is with the Father right now and is completely healed and out of pain, and that he will not have to endure the persecution that will no doubt be coming our way. Thank you RUSH for the education, the entertainment, the love that you brought us over all these years! We love the Mayor of Reallville and are grateful that you’ve trained us up well so that we can continue to fight for our country and our rights! Rest in peace my brother, rest in peace!

I had a friend and former co-worker told me to listen to Russ back in 1988. Back then I was a firm Reaganite supporter. He told me I might learn something from Russ. I thought it a was very funny when Russ would call the liberals (libtards). I thought it was so funny, because they (the liberals) could never listen to reason. Over the years I learned to like Russ more and more. In the year 2000, I had another co-worker tell me to listen to Glen Beck, which I did, but I still liked Russ more. About nine years ago I had another co-worker tell me to to listen to Sean Hannity. I did but no one compared to Russ. I retired four years ago and listened to them all. But my love for Russ only deepened. He was the best. I loved him so much better than the other two by 3000%, plus. He was always informative, always positive, and always felt like a true friend.

I didn’t always like Rush. Among the many labels I have earned along the way is that of ‘Recovering Hippy Liberal’. My transformation began around the turn of the century and from the very beginning, Rush was a voice that began to bust through my thick liberal filters. Rush’s impeccable logic and rational delivered by the unmistakable voice slowly became the very beacon which served to keep me from floundering back onto the dangerous progressive reefs and surf that mocked me for my new paradigms while attempting to lure me back with their constant pounding ‘feel good’ music. I discovered other great conservative talk show hosts as well, who I have come to be grateful for….but always, Rush’s ‘gift from God voice’ remained the grand lighthouse which shined greater, brighter and farther than any other. In the maddness of late 20th century and now the beginning of the 21st, The eloquent and courageous conservative talk show hosts are basically the only wall which stands between the survival of the Nation and the complete takeover by the new radical left. Countless millions of us out here in middle Earth rely on these regular voices to give us hope, and clarify the crazy making we are forced to endure from the main media every day. Rush was one of those messengers we are blessed with from time to time, who come at the right time with the right stuff. His massive confidence and courageous logical Honesty were often seen as arrogance, pompousness or even meglamaniacal disorders by his detractors. But those of us who ‘got’ him knew otherwise. On those occasions where I would dial in to find that my own analytical conclusions were validated by the great Rushbo himself….the feelings inside of me were purely sublime, for I could say to myself….. “wow, I’m really gettin’ this”. We knew we would lose him….. but, yet…he was always back. Week after week, sometimes taking a few days off, but always….he would come back. And, he still sounded like the Rush we had come to Love and rely on. When I discovered the news of his death this morning, a saddness swept upon me like nothing I have felt for a long time. Then, as I later heard the soft announcement on his show given by his wife, the saddness trembled deep inside me as tears squeezed from my eyes and moistened my cheeks. I had not expected this….but, this is how powerful his dependable voice and spirit had imbedded itself into my own life. How can we replace him? We can’t. But, he has long since replaced himself in the many, many other courageous voices all accross our nation which resonate through Ampitude Modulation every day of the week. Voices which serve to give us Hope and strength while resisting the diabolical crazy making methodologies of the radical left. Still, whenever I hear the familiar refrain of the ‘Pretenders’ theme music…..I will reflect on Rush Limbaugh, the brightest lighthouse on the treacherous coast.

Learning about Rush and what He stood for gave me the courage and strength to be more vocal and intelligent when discussing conservative vs. liberal ideas. I greatly enjoyed his tv show, his radio program and his books, for which I endured ridicule from my liberal coworkers. I was very honored to see Rush in person in Ft. Collins, Colorado for Dan’s bake sale, during which Rush stressed personal responsibility in achieving what is important instead of relying on government handouts. I will miss Rush greatly.
