Citizen Petition:
"I Stand With Chick-fil-A and Their Right to Free Speech"

Dan Cathy, President of the popular food chain Chick-fil-A touched off a firestorm of protest with these comments, "We are very much supportive of the family – the biblicial definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that."

Following his comments, Thomas Menino the mayor of Boston, where Chick-fil-A was reportedly looking at property told the Boston Herald that he wouldn't allow them to open for business in his city. Days later, Obama's home city, Chicago piled on with a city Alderman publicly saying that he was working to block Chick-fil-A from opening a business there because he took issue with Cathy's comments. Even Rahm Emanuel got involved saying, "Chick-fil-A's values are not Chicago's values."

As an American citizen, Cathy has a right to speak his mind. He did not display "hate speak" or discriminate against gays or lesbians. As fellow Americans we too have the right agree or disagree with what he said. We do not have the right to censor his speech or use government blockades of business over differing opinions.

In support of Cathy's First Amendment rights, Grassfire Nation has launched a nationwide petition to rally at least 75,000 citizens who are standing for Free Speech in America. Grassfire will deliver petitions as a show of support to Cathy, and as a warning to those government officials who insist on trampling those rights. Whether you agree with Cathy's comments or not, we urge you to Click below and take a stand for Free Speech in America!

The Petition States:
As an American citizen I strongly object to the unlawful efforts of elected officials who are calling for censorship and government blockades to keep Chick-fil-A from doing business in their respective cities. Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy's comments are protected under the authority of our Constitution, and as such must be respected – not threatened, and censored by government officials.

This petition effort is 100 percent grassroots sponsored and not affiliated in any way with Chick-fil-A.
