Citizen Petition:
"I Support the Boy Scouts' Ban"
The Boy Scouts of America, one of the nation's largest all-boy
organizations, are considering a National Board proposal to
allow homosexual leaders to serve at all levels of the
organization.
Despite a two year study and survey affirming, by "unanimous
consensus," the Boy Scouts upholding restrictions against
homosexual membership into the scouts, two members of the BSA
national board, James Turley CEO of Ernst & Young, and Randall
Stephenson, CEO of AT&T, are pressing the organization to amend
their strict anti-gay membership and leadership policies to
include homosexuals at all levels.
Lifting the ban on homosexuals would insult the generations of
scouts who have lived proudly by the BSA oath, "... to keep
myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight."
Grassfire is urging the BSA to reject efforts to remove the
national membership restriction that would allow homosexual
membership and has launched a national petition giving citizens
an opportunity to challenge efforts to radicalize the Boy
Scouts.
NOTE: The BSA wants your opinion about
their policy barring homosexuals from joining as members or
scoutmasters. After signing our petition below, be sure to
include
your comments in our comments field. Petitions and comments will
be hand-delivered to the BSA headquarters prior to the May vote.
The Petition States:
As a concerned
American, I urge the Boy Scouts of America to reject efforts to
remove the national membership and leadership restrictions
regarding sexual orientation. For generations, the Boy Scouts
have enjoyed a storied history of building character and
instilling lifelong values that help foster a conscientious,
responsible and productive society.
I implore the BSA to stand firm against this aggressive effort
within its ranks to force a homosexual agenda on the Scouts that
would have devastating and far-reaching consequences to this
proud organization.
