The Issue

We have reached the financial tipping point. Our nation is being swallowed up by an ever-rising tide of interest while our government refuses to exercise fiscal restraint. They are spending billions of dollars that we don’t have, proposing crushing tax hikes despite an unemployment rate that hovers near 10 percent – all of which brings us to the razor’s edge of financial ruin. The Obama solution? Raise taxes and spread the wealth around!

That’s why President Obama is pushing Sen. Harry Reid and Rep. Nancy Pelosi to allow some, or all of the so-called “Bush tax cuts ” to expire at the end of this year. But this is simply a huge tax increase — up to $3 trillion — in disguise! And Reid has announced that the Senate will stage the showdown in September over those trillions of dollars of tax cuts.

The Action
 If you oppose any and all tax increases and want to tell Congress, “Don’t Raise My Taxes,” then sign this citizen petition. The petition also includes a straightforward blueprint to reverse our government's unending cycle of spending and debt by capping spending, cutting programs and reforming the tax code.

Once the goal of 200,000 signers is reached, we will hand-deliver your petition on your behalf to leaders in Congress demanding an end to the spending madness.

The Petition States:

As a concerned American citizen, I oppose the out-of-control spending habits of our federal government and President Obama’s desire to dramatically increase taxes on the working class. With our economy struggling and our government mired in massive deficits, I oppose ANY new taxes or new government spending.
 
  Additionally, I urge the President and Congress to implement the following straightforward solutions to arrest the current out-of-control government spending:

  • A Strict CAP on Federal Spending. No baseline budgeting and no increases in any line-item of the federal budget over prior years until the budget is balanced.
  • An immediate 10 percent across-the-board CUT in all federal programs excluding Social Security and Medicare implemented annually until the budget is balanced.
  • Release Americans from our current oppressive tax system by abolishing all taxes in the multi-tiered federal tax system and establishing ONE consolidated federal tax that every American can understand.
