Stop The Spending Madness!

The Issue

We have reached the tipping point. With our nation perilously hanging on the very edge of financial ruin President Obama is endorsing a budget that dramatically increases government spending, adds an additional $2 trillion in tax increases over the next decade, and pushes our national debt to a sobering and almost incomprehensible $18.57 trillion in just the next ten years!

Even more troubling is the grim reality that our nation is being swallowed up by an ever-rising tide of interest -- from $188 billion in interest in 2010, to an unsustainable $840 billion in 2020.

Without swift action, this reckless spending will almost certainly lead to radicalized government policy that includes hyper-inflation, hyper-taxation, and hyper-statism.

The Action
As citizens, we must become the voice of reason. We must do our utmost to stop Washington's insatiable money-spending ways that will lead to our ultimate destruction. That's why Grassfire Nation has launched a national petition demanding an end to the spending madness. Our "Cap, Cut and Grow" petition is a straightforward blueprint to reverse our government's downward spending spiral through:

100 percent cap on all federal spending. No baseline budgeting. No increases.
10 percent cut in all government spending (with the exceptions being Social
Security and Medicare that Americans have paid in to for decades.
Grow our Economy by taking off the government shackles and restraints
empowering our businesses to boldly move forward without fear!

Grassfire Nation is mobilizing at least 200,000 citizens over the next 30 days, who support our "Cap, Cut and Grow" initiative. Once our goal is reached, we will hand-deliver at least 200,000 petitions to the White House, Senate and Finance Committee, the House Budget committee and other key members of Congress demanding an end to the spending madness.

The Petition States:

As a concerned American citizen, I oppose the out-of-control spending of our federal government and President Obama’s proposed deficit-laden budget. Obama’s budget increases the federal debt by more than $8 trillion, adds $2 trillion in new taxes and further expands government spending. With our economy struggling and our government mired in massive deficits, I oppose ANY new taxes or new government spending.

Additionally, I urge the President and Congress to implement CAP, CUT AND GROW -- a simple and straightforward solution to out-of-control government spending:

CAP--Strict cap on Federal Spending. No baseline budgeting and no increases in any line-item of the federal budget over prior year until the budget is balanced.

CUT --Immediate 10% across-the-board CUT in all federal programs excluding Social Security and Medicare implemented annually until the budget is balanced.

GROW -- Once and for all, release us from the oppressive tax system by abolishing all taxes in the multi-tiered federal tax system and establishing ONE consolidated federal tax that every American can understand.
